Teachers know how crazy things get in a primary classroom leading up to Christmas! So much energy from concert practice and letters to Santa - it's both fun and exhausting! Here are some quick, no-prep activities to keep little hands busy while learning!
SANTA LETTERS
Have fun writing letters to Santa! Send them home so that parents can get a heads up about things their children really want for Christmas! This is one writing activity that students need no prompting - they are always completely engaged and enthusiastic!
CHRISTMAS CODED SENTENCES
My students love cracking the secret code and making a picture! The decoded sentences are instructions of what to draw! Students are also prompted to write their own sentence about the picture, so LOTS of phonics and writing practice in this activity! The first level is pictured on the cover, but there are more challenging levels included too!
CHRISTMAS SENTENCE BUILDING
More sentences for Christmas! This activity is perfect for students who need the added support of hands-on manipulation of words. Students cut out the words and arrange them into the proper sentence before gluing them in place and writing the sentence properly. There's a self-editing checklist embedded on each page! Click HERE!
CHRISTMAS PRINTING JOKES
What's more fun than jokes! This is the perfect way to get students practicing their printing - with silly jokes! Not only do they love to write the jokes, but afterwards they practice reading them aloud to friends! Click HERE to see pictures!

CURL UP SANTA'S BEARD WITH KINDNESS
Grab this free download to help spread Christmas Kindness! Santa has random acts of kindness written on his beard. Students use a pencil to roll up each section of the beard when the complete the act of kindness! So simple and super cute! The magic is in the group conversation afterwards, when students describe their acts of kindness and how it made them feel! CLICK HERE to see it!
I hope these ideas will help create a festive classroom full of learning and fun at Christmas!
